Are you FIRED UP? ARE YOU READY TO GO! VOTE VOTE VOTE!!! 😀
The Democratic Party of Chaves County will hold a special election to fill the vacancies of one State Central Committee Member and our Vice Chair on:
Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 10am (registration begins at 9am)
Holiday Inn (by Hampton Inn and Wal-Mart)
3620 N Main St, Roswell, NM 88201
You must be a registered Democrat to vote.
NOTE: These positions do require some time and work as well as out of town travel at the person’s own expense. Currently Chaves County has 4 SCC members including the Chair and Vice Chair. As voter turnout increases in election years, that number of representation potentially increases and vice versa with lower turnouts. SCC members travel to State Party meetings to vote on State Party matters such as the election of State Party Officers (ie State Party Chair and State Party Vice Chair) and State Party platforms. Every county has a different number of SCC members depending on their populations/voter turnouts.
FORWARDED: Travis Ackerman is trying to raise funds to send his students to D.C. to take part in the Close Up Foundation’s Washington D.C. civic education program. Close Up gives students the opportunity to experience their government in action and gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to be engaged.
The program cost per student is $1,890 and is all-inclusive, travel expenses, academic workshops, meals, lodging and is truly the experience of a lifetime!
Your contribution would be an investment in our community’s future by helping students become active and informed citizens
